Claes Oldenburg utilized the importance of scale and satirized it by installing large scale, everyday items in random places. Some were meaningful and metaphoric to the location, but some were randomly placed to exude a sense of surrealism. Is this real? Am I miniaturized and the sculpture is reality? It really makes his audience think, and that encompasses the main purpose of modern art.
