This music video challenges the norms of music videos as Tyler runs through a stream of consciousness and does horrid things for the purpose of art. There are no cuts and the camera is focused on Tyler. He basically tells his story and how he feels about everything. The use of silhouetting is pretty interesting as well.

Television
This show feels like a reality TV show in that it supposedly takes couples through houses to get great deals on them. Unfortunately, the show is fake because it requires that the couples already secure a house beforehand.
Photography: Art vs Not Art
The top photo is from the Civil Rights Movement and documents a moment in time. The bottom photo is a long exposure shot of the stars over the lake solely for the sake of art. Easily, the technicality in taking both pictures differentiates each photo; the top was snapped quickly for the moment whereas in the bottom, the artist took hours setting up the shot.
History of Photography
The invention of the daguerrotype was very important to photography as it presented the first personalized photo that people could keep with them and relish in their narcissism.
Hermeneutics
This quote is placed on a chalkboard denoting a pedagogical approach to teaching the meaning of meaning where the word meaning has many meanings. It is almost satirical.
Art 21: Fred Wilson
This piece from Fred Wilson is very inspiring and insightful as it highlights the struggle and suffering of African Americans throughout time. Also, it signifies the idea of the loss of identity as each black tear drop has eyes.
Semiotics
The sign is the idea of quadrupedal motion presented by both the rhino and the car. The signifier is the rhino and the signified is the car. Without the rhino being the basis for the car, the signified concept would not exist.
Art in the Park
This piece is my favorite piece of the park since it is interactive and is dynamic with a pyro element. Also, because of the materiality used by the artist, the snake browned due to the rusting from the natural environment. I believe that the snake is an interpretation of nature and its beauty and how humans have affected so much that nature responds with backlash in the form of fire.
Ways of Seeing: Ideology
Both pictures are from an album and mixtape, respectively. They are by Childish Gambino, my favorite musical artist. The pieces are different perspectives of a setting and rising sun.
Cubism
This collage of photographs belongs in the cubism movement because it shows all points of views of all objects from a stationary perspective.
Gender Bias: Guerilla Girls
This image is definitely a gender injustice towards women as it denotes that women are the sole contributors to cleaning a household.
Art 21: James Turrell
James Turrell's art really interested me as he seemed to be attracted to the idea of rendering an interactive two-dimensional space in a three-dimensional world. It seemed to break the barriers of science as he subtracted layers to make it seem that the sky was juxtaposed right into the ceiling.
Augmented Show
My favorite exhibit from the museum was the microscopes and their utilization to create art. The idea of utilizing a completely scientific apparatus to photograph dust from museums around the world and the explanation really hooked me. In a sense, I felt like I could make art out of anything.
Form: Roger Fry
Rhythm of the Line: The artist creates a three dimensional perspective from a two dimensional piece through the use of the separation from the colors and lines.
Mass: The mass of the piece is presented by the width of the lines and the amount of different colors found in each polygon.
Space: The spacing helps provide separation and promotes a sense of depth.
Light and Shade: This is the most important part of this piece as it draws heavily on this to assist in creating polygons with depth.
Color: The colors used seem random but are all representative of placement on the spectrum. No two similar colors seem to touch each other.
Form: Josiah McElheny
The form of this piece denotes a style of repetition formed from one layer and the manipulation of light to create an illusion that expands to infinity. This art is scary in some aspects as we see the sheer scale of the ethereal realm presented to us, but it flows into the darkness.

Electronic Art

The audiovisual art of Granular Synthesis can be classified as electronic music. The soundscapes used in their pieces would lose definition without the audial part.
Graffiti : Mural
This street art is very appealing to me as it implores a simplistic feel with the smiley face but is harshly juxtaposed by the skull underneath and the vibrant colors splattering around it.
Steve Mann

Steve Mann seemed to be just a quirky old man with wearable computers. However, upon gaining knowledge on his work, his intentions gained a lot of my attention. It seems that he designed Google Glass before Google made Google Glass. His idealisms echo on today on through wearable technology such as the Oculus Rift and augmented reality headsets.
Rafael Lozano
Rafael Lozano's art style was very interesting to me as he utilized technology and hardware to bridge the gap between audiovisual interpretation and personal interaction. An artist that influences his/her crowd through his works is successful.
Iconology

Panofsky's third level of meaning encompasses an intrinsic definition. In regards to this image by Debra Hurd, the work accurately depicts the vibrant colors of the jazz culture. Aspects that may have not been the artist's intention can be seen in the instrumentation of this combo group; the instruments used denote the period of jazz that this piece comes from, which is the swing era.

Claes Oldenburg
Claes Oldenburg utilized the importance of scale and satirized it by installing large scale, everyday items in random places. Some were meaningful and metaphoric to the location, but some were randomly placed to exude a sense of surrealism. Is this real? Am I miniaturized and the sculpture is reality? It really makes his audience think, and that encompasses the main purpose of modern art.

Digital Imaging Doodles
This Photoshop abomination was created in class today. It is multi-layered; 10 layers were compiled to produce this composition. Photo material was pulled from Google Images and the hardest part of the creation of this image was removing the water mark from the corgi puppy by using the Clone Stamp tool.
Granular Synthesis

Granular Synthesis is comprised of two individuals Kurt Henschlager and Ulf Langheinrich who have been working together under the pseudonym since 1991. The common goal of this group is to utilize audiovisual abstraction as an ethereal, abstract, and sonic experience. This unique approach to digital imaging can be experienced at shows, but loses effect when shown without sound.

Repetition of Form II
This image was taken on the small bridge that links into the SEB. The lines converge at the top of the composition as concentric circles also form a cone shape with the vertex intersecting the point of convergence.

The History of the Internet
This graphic is a microcosm of the stark evolution of the internet. Not shown are the technological discoveries before 1990 in regards to telecommunication. The video made me realize that my knowledge of computers lacked in their origin stories. I did not realize that ARPANET was the first prototype of the internet utilized for war. Also, the first item purchased on the internet was pizza; this fact was intriguing, as it displays that even tech-savvy people need pizza in their lives. The last fact that I didn't realize was the huge amount of space that previous computers occupied; interestingly, these room sized giants only had RAM's up to a few kb's!
Gestalt on Mercer's Campus
Shown above is a banner of a logo for the "Research That Reaches Out" concept at Mercer's campus. This particular banner was right outside the front entrance of Hardeman Hall. Some could argue that the globe was preemptively drawn as a circle and the lines were drawn over it. From a gestalt point of view, a black circle was the base, and individual white polygons were placed over it, formulating a globe and emphasizing a round movement. The orange streaks that are superimposed over the globe help strengthen the idea of rotational movement.
